Nashville, TN - Lt. Governor Randy McNally, Speaker of the Tennessee Senate, has appointed Kelly G Rollins of Murfreesboro to serve on the Tennessee State Board of Education, representing Tennessee’s Fourth Congressional District. His term will begin on April 1, 2026, and end on March 31, 2031.

“Tennessee’s students deserve leaders who understand both workforce demands and community needs,” said Lt. Governor Randy McNally (R-Oak Ridge). “Kelly Rollins’ background in business leadership and his commitment to local civic engagement make him well-suited to help guide education policy that prepares students for success.”

Rollins is a first-generation graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management. He retired in 2020 after a 37-year career in management with United Parcel Service (UPS), where he held leadership roles across package operations, marketing, business development, supply chain solutions, and sales.

Beyond his professional career, Rollins is strongly committed to community service and engagement across Middle Tennessee. He has served in multiple leadership roles with the Boys & Girls Clubs, including as president of the Rutherford County organization and, currently, as chair and president of the Boys & Girls Club in Tennessee. He also helped found the Community Foundation of Rutherford County and currently serves as its chair and president.

Rollins remains actively involved in his community through several leadership roles. He currently serves on the Blue Raider Athletic Association Board of Directors at Middle Tennessee State University, is a member of the Leadership Rutherford Council, and was appointed in 2025 to serve on the Murfreesboro City Planning Commission.

“Kelly brings decades of leadership experience and a strong commitment to serving Tennessee communities,” said Sara Morrison, executive director of the Tennessee State Board of Education. “We look forward to his perspective and are pleased to welcome him to the State Board.”
