Find a Summer Food Service Program Meal Site
The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) understands that child wellness is directly tied to the future of Tennessee. The department partners with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and community organizations (sponsors and meal sites) to offer nutrition assistance to Tennessee children through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program, also known as SUN Meals, strengthens Tennessee families with low incomes by ensuring children have the nutrition needed to grow and develop during summer when school meals are not available through the National School Lunch Program.
No application is required for summer meals available at most meal sites, however some summer camps may offer SFSP meals on a case-by-case basis for families who share income information.

Summer Meal Availability Varies by Location
In Tennessee, there are two Summer Meal options for children based on location and the number of meal site sponsors in an area:
- SUN Meals: Free meals and snacks that are available to children at schools, parks, and other eligible neighborhood locations in Tennessee communities.
- SUN Meals-To-Go: These meals can be picked up by Tennessee families in some rural areas.
