Now Available for Public Comment: 2025 SSBG Intended Use Plan

The draft FY 2025 SSBG Intended Use Plan is currently available for public comment and can be viewed by clicking here. The Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) program in Tennessee provides funding for Adult Homemaker Services and Adult Day Care services. Services are limited to low-income elderly or disabled adults who meet federal poverty guidelines or are referred by the DHS Adult Protective Services Program due to allegations of abuse or neglect.

Homemaker Services are limited in-home personal care services designed to allow participants to remain in their own residence and maintain independence. The Adult Day Care program provides limited Adult Day Care services in selected communities. Priority eligibility is given to protective service referrals. For information on Licensure standards for Adult Day Care programs, please contact the DHS office in your county.

The program is administered through contracts with an established network of local non-profit agencies and local governments, serving all 95 counties.
