Wholesaler Representative Permit
Representative and/or sales staff of Tennessee wholesalers must obtain a wholesaler representative permit from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission before soliciting orders from retail licensees. Only a wholesaler representative permit holder is permitted to solicit orders for alcoholic beverages from retail licensees. Retail licensees shall not give an order to anyone other than the holder of a wholesale representative permit.
The wholesaler representative permit is valid for 5 years from the date of issue.
Applicants can apply for this permit using RLPS.
Requirements
- Applicant for a wholesaler representative permit must be at least 18 years of age.
- Wholesaler representative permits must be on the employee’s person as it is subject to inspection by the commission or its duly authorized agent.
- A copy of the individual’s employee permit or wholesale representative permit must also be kept on file with the wholesaler. The actual card is kept by the employee.
Restrictions
- Pursuant to the Fresh Start Act, no person holding a TABC permit may have been convicted of a crime which directly relates to the business of alcoholic beverage sales.
