FF292 - Confined Space Awareness
Overview
This in-service class is designed to give responders an overview of the dangers and hazards associated with a confined space. We will discuss where confined spaces can be found in local response areas and identify some less obvious locations. Students will define the hazards and dangers in confined spaces and look at limited interventions to control these dangers. Additionally, we will look at the equipment needed to perform a non-entry retrieval and how to perform a basic non-entry retrieval. The completion of this class should increase the student’s awareness of dealing with a confined space emergency ultimately decreasing the fatality rate of would-be rescuers.
