Responding to Utility Emergencies
Overview:
This course is designed to increase the emergency responders' knowledge of electricity and natural gas, and explains the myths and mistakes made by the first responder.
Students gain knowledge and understanding of the skills needed to identify and evaluate hazards and avoid injury. Students learn electrical and natural gas safety awareness and safe operating procedures recommended by the utility industry.
This course is designed strictly for use in the defensive mode. The course is broken into two segments: one, 4 hour block involving electricity emergencies and one, 4 hour block involving natural gas.
