FF289 Pumps Ops for the Attack Engine
Pump Ops for the Attack Engine
Overview:
Serving as the fire department pump operator involves more than just holding a steering wheel and pulling levers on the pump panel. Simply put, the engine company relies on the pump operator to provide them with their life line – water. This 4-hour in-service class is designed to review more than just fire pump theory and will expose students to “street smart” topics such as: positioning considerations for the attack engine, placing the first line in service, “blitz” attack operations, operating from a pressurized water source, and simplified fireground hydraulics. This course will also focus on reviewing the characteristics of the hose and nozzle packages specific to the hosting fire department.
