The agenda includes approval of the previous meeting minutes, reports from partner agencies, organizations and ex officio members, as well as approval of chairperson and district appointments. The commission will also discuss long-range conservation plans and their role.
The meeting is open to the public to attend.
A portion of the meeting will be reserved for public comment, which may be submitted either orally or in writing regarding business before the commission.
The Tennessee General Assembly created the commission in 1939 to assist in developing local soil conservation districts. Today, the commission advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on matters of soil conservation and water quality improvement.
