Tennessee Forestry Commission to Meet

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Forestry Commission will meet June 23, 2023 at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, Tenn.

The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. CDT in the Bruer Building conference room located at 406 Hogan Road. The meeting is open to the public to attend.

The agenda includes approval of the previous meeting’s minutes, presentation of the landowner assistance strategic plan, and an update on forest health. Dovetail Partners will present information on carbon storage, carbon markets, and wood products. The Commission will elect officers and discuss the state forestry budget and vacancies.

A portion of the meeting will be reserved for public comment, which may be submitted either orally or in writing regarding business before the commission.

The Tennessee Forestry Commission comprises seven members representing the public’s interests as they relate to forest resources in the state. The Commission advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on forest issues.
