State Soil Conservation Committee to Meet

NASHVILLE – The State Soil Conservation Committee (SSCC) will meet Feb. 23, 2020 at 4 p.m. CST at the Marriott Cool Springs, located at 700 Cool Springs Blvd, in Franklin, Tenn.

The meeting is open to the public to attend and will be conducted permitting committee representatives to participate by electronic or other means of communication.

The agenda includes approval of the previous meeting minutes, reports from partner agencies and organizations, updates from ex officio members, approval of Soil Conservation District supervisor appointments, and discussion of changes needed to the Soil Conservation Districts Law.

The SSCC was created by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1939 for the purpose of assisting in the development of local soil conservation districts. The committee advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on matters pertaining to soil conservation and water quality improvement.
