State Fair and Exposition Commission to Meet
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State Fair and Exposition Commission (TSFEC) will meet March 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. CDT in the Agriculture Building at the Fairgrounds located at 500 Wedgewood Avenue in Nashville.
The agenda includes planning for the selection of a commission chair, discussion of the 2019 State Fair, an update on the construction status of the Fairgrounds Nashville, signing the conflict of interest agreement, and review of the TSFEC statute, charge, and by-laws. The meeting is open to the public.
The Tennessee State Fair and Exposition Commission was created by the Tennessee General Assembly in 2012 as the sole body in Tennessee charged with administering a state fair and exposition.
The commission’s membership was redefined by statute in 2018 to comprise five members: the dean of the University of Tennessee Extension, the president of the Tennessee Farm Bureau, the state advisor of the Future Farmers of America, the executive director of the Tennessee Association of Fairs, and the chair of the Tennessee State Fair Association.
