HPAI Press Conference Today

NASHVILLE—The Tennessee Department of Agriculture will host a press conference today to discuss the detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a commercial chicken breeder flock in Lincoln County.

This press conference is open to the media.

Weather permitting, the press conference will take place in front of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Moss Administration Building, located at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Among those prepared to speak will be Tennessee Agriculture Commissioner Jai Templeton, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency Director Patrick Sheehan, Deputy State Epidemiologist Dr. John Dunn and State Veterinarian Dr. Charles Hatcher.

Following the press conference, media representatives will have the opportunity to take photos and shoot b-roll from outside the laboratory where the poultry samples are being tested.
