The Emergency Food Assistance Program

Under TEFAP, USDA makes commodity foods available to states, who then distribute them to food banks and affiliated agencies.

Here’s how to find your local food bank:

  1. Use the interactive map or dropdown menu below to select your county of residence.
  2. Once you choose your county, you will see the list of food banks and affiliate agencies that serve your area.
  3. Contact your local food bank or affiliate agency directly for details on distribution days, times, pickup locations, and eligibility requirements.
  4. Because there are hundreds of affiliates, be sure you select your county to view only the agencies that serve you.

A few extra tips:

  • Consider calling ahead: distribution times and availability may change. You may also have to fill out an application for assistance beforehand.
  • Keep your county of residence in mind when navigating the map or list, to ensure you’re looking at the correct agencies.
