Governor Bill Lee has appointed Meredith B. Weaver as a judge on the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board for the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC).

The Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) is comprised of practitioners in the medical community having experience in the treatment of workers’ compensation injuries, representatives of the insurance industry, employer representatives, and employee representatives to assist the administrator in the development of the treatment guidelines and advise the administrator on issues relating to medical care in the Workers’ Compensation system.

Medical Payment Committee will meet Tuesday, July 19th, 1:00 PM (CDT). The meeting is open to the public. The meeting will be held in the Workers’ Compensation Large Conference Room, 220 French Landing Drive, 1st Floor, Side B, Nashville, and will be available via Microsoft Teams.

The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is announcing the dates for its annual Educational Conference and issuing a Call for Presenters for its 2022 Workers' Compensation Educational Conference. The in-person conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Nashville SE in Murfreesboro, TN August 15-17, 2022.

The committee hears disputes on medical bill payments between providers and insurers and advises the administrator on issues relating to the medical fee schedule and medical care cost containment in the workers’ compensation system.

Effective January 2, 2022, the Tennessee workers’ comp mileage reimbursement rate increased from $0.47 per mile to $0.585 per mile.

The Medical Payment Committee will meet Tuesday, February 7th, 1:00 PM (CST). The meeting is open to the public. The meeting will be held in the Tennessee Room, 220 French Landing Drive, 1st Floor, Side A, Nashville, and will be available via Microsoft Teams.

We require certification in the AMA Guides for appointments to the (MIR) Registry or the Certified Physician Program (CPP) Registry. Certification may be from either the Bureau or an approved vendor.
