The Prevailing Wage Commission will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. (C.D.T). This meeting will be held in the TOSHA. Conference Room of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development located at 220 French Landing Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37243. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues impacting Tennessee’s unemployment insurance program.

The Elevator & Amusement Device Safety Board is comprised of eight (8) members who share industry knowledge, expertise and hear issues concerning elevators, other conveyances as well as amusement devices. Presentations by owners, operators and industry representatives are made, and board members determine if variances should be granted or if an action is consistent with current rules and law. When appropriate, the board makes recommendations to the department to amend rules, law, etc. through the rule-making process or via legislation.

This year’s conference will once again be conducted at the beautiful Embassy Suites Hotel in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Conference and hotel registration will open soon. It will feature speakers from across the state and across the continent. Dr. Marcos Iglesias, Sr. VP and Chief Medical officer for Broadspire will discuss disability prevention intervention that addresses injured workers’ psychosocial risk factors Kevin Glennon, VP, Clinical Programs for One Call Care Management will present “Managing the Needs of the Aging Injured Worker” Jessica Stollings, President of ReGenerations, will present “The Generational Advantage” From Conflict to Competitive Edge” Terry Bryson, Vice President, Motlow State Community College will discuss the impact that technology, robotics and artificial intelligence is having on the worksite and injury reduction

The Board of Boiler Rules will meet on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 9:00 A.M. (CDT). The meeting will be held at the office of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development located at 220 French Landing Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37243. The TOSHA Hearing Room on the 1st Floor will be utilized.

The Medical Advisory Committee is comprised of practitioners in the medical community having experience in the treatment of workers’ compensation injuries, representatives of the insurance industry, employer representatives, and employee representatives to assist the administrator in the development of the treatment guidelines and advise the administrator on issues relating to medical care in the Workers’ Compensation system.
