Directions and Description
Site Directions: South of Bucksnort. From I-40 take TN-229 S/TN-50 E in Hurricane Mills. Latitude: 35.85169, Longitude: -87.67441 Parking areas are along Highway 50, there is no public road access to the back of the property, and all access walk-ink in from the front off Hwy 50. The safety zone and camping area are between Highway 50, Turney Prison Road, and Happy Hollow Creek. Huntable land starts north of the curved bridge on Highway 50.

The WMA is open year-round during daylight hours, note hunting seasons. License fees may apply.
Happy Hollow is located in Hickman County Tennessee, is approximately 1,800 acres and consists of upland oak forests with steep ridges and wet valleys. Several gas lines traverse the property and are mowed on a rotational basis. Hunters often find these rights of ways productive during deer season.
Regulations & Season Dates
ATVs may only be used by hunters to retrieve deer.
Any personal property left unattended for longer than 24 hours, without prior permission, may be impounded and may be disposed of according to state procedures. Treestands must be marked with the hunter’s TWRA identification number.
Camping in designated areas only, tent camping only. No motorized vehicle access to the campground. Fires are permitted only in fire pits.
Small Game, Trapping, and Dog Training - Same as statewide season, except as noted. No hunting the night before or during big game hunts.
Deer (Archery, Muzzleloader, Young Sportsman) – Same as statewide season.
Deer (Gun) – Three (3) hunts: Nov. 23 – 25, 2024, Dec. 7 – 9, 2024 and Dec. 21 – 23, 2024. Hunter quota 80. Two (2) deer, no more than one (1) antlered (bonus deer).
Fall Turkey - Closed.
Turkey – Two (2) hunts: April 12 - 15, 2024, and May 3 - 6, 2025. Hunter Quota 50. One (1) male bird.
Turkey (Young Sportsman) – Same as statewide seasons.
Quail – Nov. 2, 2024 – Jan. 15, 2025.
Camping - Open during deer and turkey seasons to any hunters actively hunting the WMA.
