Pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated (T.C.A.) § 49-13-108, public charter school sponsors may appeal the denial of an application by a local board of education to the Tennessee Public Charter School Commission. The Tennessee Public Charter School Commission’s decision on appeal shall be final and not subject to further appeal. An appeal of a charter school application to the Commission is governed in accordance with T.C.A. § 49-13-108(b)(5) and the Commission Rules and Policies. Written Public Comment Submission Form: The Commission will continue to accept written public comments until one week after the conclusion of the public hearing. Public comment for this hearing will not be accepted after 12:00 p.m. CT on Monday, September 23, 2024.

In-person Public Comment Sign-up Form: Individuals who have registered in advance with the Commission at the following links will have up to two minutes to provide comments. The Commission will allow up to 10 individuals speaking in support of approving the application and up to 10 individuals speaking in support of the district’s decision to deny the application. Slots may not be transferred, and public comment sign up will close on September 13 at 12:00 p.m. CT OR when the slots are filled, whatever is first.
