Inclusive Internship Opportunities

At TennCare, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce makes us stronger. Our internship program offers meaningful opportunities for individuals with disabilities (to explore career pathways, develop professional skills, and gain experience in state government.

Through this program, interns have the opportunity to:

  • Strengthen their technical and interpersonal skills
  • Contribute to rewarding work that improves the lives of Tennesseans
  • Gain exposure to careers in Medicaid, disability-related programs, and state government
  • Build valuable professional networks and connections

Internships are offered during the fall and spring semesters, with occasional summer opportunities. Each internship follows a part-time, remote/hybrid structure with required orientation in Nashville, TN.

This program is more than an internship – it’s a steppingstone toward a future career in state government or related fields.
