  • Notice of Rulemaking Hearing

    May 17, 2022

These rulemaking hearings make revisions to the Adult Day Services rules and are set for public hearings on May 17th in each grand region of the state. The revisions include additional definitions as needed; allowing background checks to transfer similar to childcare background checks, add summary suspension proceeding provisions; prohibit vaping in facilities; add a requirement that mental stimulation activities be offered to participants who have Alzheimer’s or dementia; and amend requirements for required reports to the Department to exclude 911 calls made for routine medical issues but kept required reporting incidents of a serious or life-threatening nature and any major incidents involving medications, among other revisions. These rule revisions were developed in conjunction with a group of Adult Day Service providers from across the state and have now been filed as rulemaking hearing rules.
