NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS), in partnership with Governor Bill Lee and the Families First Community Advisory Board, will announce the recipients of $175 million in Implementation Grants to further the Department’s vision of fundamentally changing the way low-income families are served in Tennessee. The naming of pilot grantees marks another significant milestone in the state’s plan to effectively put federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds to use in impactful ways. Six public-private groups, two in each grand division of the state, will each receive $25 million to fund their respective pilots. TDHS selected a seventh pilot initiative that also will receive grant funding.
