The Fleming Training Center offers classes and seminars that can help certified operators meet their continuing education requirements while strengthening the knowledge and skills needed for their work.

Cross-Connection Control Program Administration
Protecting a public water system goes beyond installing backflow prevention devices—it requires a well-managed, compliant cross-connection control (CCC) program. This new course is designed to help Tennessee public water systems develop, implement, and strengthen local cross-connection control programs that meet TDEC requirements while protecting public health. Participants will gain practical knowledge and resources they can immediately apply to improve their utility's cross-connection control program.
Throughout this interactive 6-hour course, participants will learn how to interpret Tennessee's cross-connection control regulations, apply plumbing code requirements, conduct hazard assessments, develop corrective actions, maintain program records, and establish effective local enforcement procedures. Hands-on examples and mock survey exercises provide practical experience for implementing and managing a compliant cross-connection control program.
Each participant will receive a printed copy of the TDEC Cross-Connection Control Manual along with templates and resources to assist with implementing or improving a local cross-connection control program.
This course is approved for 6 Continuing Education (CE) hours for Water Treatment and Water Distribution operator certifications.

Math Fundamentals introduces the mathematical concepts needed to solve more advanced problems encountered on the operator certification examinations. The course applies to all water and wastewater operator certification classifications.

The course consists of 10 instructional days. Students will attend class for five days, have five days off, and then return for five additional instructional days. Attendance is required for all 10 instructional days. Students should plan to attend both weeks in their entirety to successfully complete the course.

This course introduces the water treatment process and the components and processes used to produce potable water. Students will also become familiar with water quality analysis and National regulations applicable to drinking water systems.
This course consists of four instructional days scheduled over an extended period. The class does not meet on consecutive days. Students should review the published schedule carefully and plan to attend all four scheduled class days.
Attendance is required for all four instructional days. Students should attend each scheduled class day in its entirety to successfully complete the course.
Basic math skills are essential. Individuals who need to review basic math concepts are encouraged to take Math Fundamentals or Applied Math Week 1 for Water Treatment Operators.
