Important Water and Wastewater Operator Certification Information
All water and wastewater paper examinations will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 12 - 4 pm CST
at the Wilson County Exposition Center - 945 E Baddour Pkwy, Lebanon, TN 37087.
State and local authority COVID-19 screening procedures will be in effect upon entry.
Certified Operator List - As part of our effort to assist essential drinking water and wastewater utilities and systems in Tennessee during the COVID-19 pandemic, a current listing of all Certified Operators is now available through the Fleming Training Center section of TDEC’s Dataviewer application. The listing of Tennessee Certified Water and Wastewater Operator can be filtered and searched to identify individuals from different areas in order to provide additional operator support should a utility or system experience a workforce shortage due to COVID-19.
Important Cross-Connection Control Backflow Assembly Tester Certificate Extension Information
Effective April 9, 2020 - Tennessee Dept. of Environment and Conservation is extending the expiration date of Backflow Assembly Testers until September 30, 2020. More information on this extension can be viewed here.
Fleming Training Center
The Fleming Training Center offers advanced classes in a variety of water and wastewater areas. The center also offers assistance to over 4,000 certified operators with their certification and continuing education requirements. The purpose of water and wastewater treatment operator certification is to protect public health by preventing pollution in all water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems, by establishing a program for certification of competency for operators to operate such plants and systems.
