Pre-Service Training for New Hires

Pre-service training is offered for new direct service staff, such as case workers, youth service workers and supervisors upon hire. Ongoing in-service training is provided to ensure staff remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on child welfare practices to provide quality service to children and families.

Newly hired Case Managers for the Department of Children's Services receive Pre-Service training prior to taking on a case load. Weeks 2, 4, 6, and 7 are reserved for on the job training (OJT) and are held in the region.
