Interstate Compact Information

The Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children & for Juveniles

The Department of Children's Services monitors:

• the placements of children across state lines to ensure the best interests of each child.  This compact is referred to as the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children. (ICPC)
• the movement of youths on probation, or parole, coming into and out of Tennessee.  This compact is referred to as the Interstate Compact for Juveniles. (ICJ)
