MEMPHIS – Late last night, offender Terry Mason #143218 absconded from the Mark Luttrell Transition Center (MLTC). Shortly before 10 last night, Correctional Officers determined that Mason had not returned from his place of employment.

KNOXVILLE – In an effort to assist the offender population in Knoxville and surrounding communities, the Knoxville Day Reporting and Community Resource Center (DRC/CRC) collaborated with Probation Parole Officers at the Tennessee Department of Correction’s (TDOC) Knoxville Field Office to hold a Career & Resource Expo.

MEMPHIS – Wednesday night the Memphis Day Reporting Center (DRC) held its Quarterly ‘Friends and Family’ event which was created and designed to serve as an educational and informational program for the family and friends of those currently enrolled in the DRC program regarding addiction and how they can provide support and assistance to those suffering from addiction.

NASHVILLE – Today the American Correctional Association (ACA) announced Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Tony Parker as President-Elect of this nearly 150 year old organization.

JOHNSON CITY – The Tennessee Department of Correction’s “Operation Clean Up” continued today at the Johnson City Probation and Parole field office. Officers and Special Agents with TDOC, along with officers from the Johnson City Police Department, conducted intensive vehicle searches in the parking lot of the field office. Today’s operation resulted in the search of over 50 vehicles.

PIKEVILLE – Earlier today the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex (BCCX) held its annual Resource Summit. Over 300 offenders, all within one year of release, participated in the event, networking and receiving information from over 20 community and regionally based organizations.

NASHVILLE–Thursday, the Tennessee Department of Correction’s Crisis Intervention team (CIT) was awarded the 2018 Model Project Award by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

JOHNSON CITY – Earlier today the Johnson City Day Reporting Center (DRC) held its Fourth Annual ‘Day of H.O.P.E.: Helping Others Promote Education’ event. The event served as an educational seminar for the family and friends of those currently enrolled in the DRC program. Topics included understanding addiction and how loved ones can provide support and assistance to those suffering from addiction.
