New Hope WMA

Site Directions:  From Big Sandy: Take Main Street .1 mile and turn left onto 2nd Street, follow for .1 miles and turn right onto Lick Creek Road, follow for .7 miles and turn left onto New Hope Road, follow for 4 miles and the WMA entrance will be on the left.  This is the only access point for the WMA.

Waterfowl hunting from temporary blinds only. No blinds, blind materials, boats, or decoys may be left overnight.

Big Game, Small Game, and Trapping are the same as statewide seasons

Site Description: The WMA consists of 88 acres of overgrown fields and has a shoreline that borders Kentucky Lake.  ATVs are not permitted.

Wildlife viewing opportunities are limited due to the lack of road access.

Wildlife to Watch:  Small game such as rabbits and woodcock are common as well as wintering waterfowl and shorebirds along the lake shoreline. At the South end of the parking lot, an active Bald Eagles nest can be seen in the adjacent pine trees.   ATVs are not permitted.
