TDOT 25-Year Statewide Longe-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has created a new long-term vision for transportation across the State in its recently completed 2025 Statewide Policy Plan Update. The Statewide Planning Section also recently kicked off a full 2055 Statewide (LRTP). The 2055 Statewide (LRTP) will provide a foundation for prioritizing transportation investments across the State through 2055.
WHAT IS THE PLAN?
TDOT has a long history of planning for the multimodal transportation needs across the state. The 25-Year Planning Division Transportation Policy Plan is a crucial document for TDOT and its various stakeholders. It enables TDOT to make important long-term funding and policy decisions regarding transportation investments throughout Tennessee, both now and in the future. A significant outcome of this comprehensive effort, which spans over two years, is the development of a mid-term, 10-Year Strategic Investment Program. This program aims to incorporate the insights gained during the creation of the 25-Year Transportation Policy Plan, allowing for the simultaneous development of a fiscally constrained project investment plan that can be executed over 10 years.
