File a Safety/Health Complaint
The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1972 provides employees and/or their representatives the right to file complaints and request inspections if concerned with the possible existence of safety and health hazards.
Complaints from employees and their representatives are taken seriously by TOSHA.
If you would like to report hazards at your workplace to TOSHA:
- Call the TOSHA office that is located nearest to the place where the hazard(s) exist
- Submit a complaint online.
- Mail or fax a completed complaint form.

Protection Against Retaliation/Discrimination
Names of complainants kept confidential, the act gives complainants the right to request their names not be revealed to their employers.
Employers are prohibited from discharging or discriminating against an employee who has exercised any right under the TOSHA Act, including the right to make safety or health complaints or to request an inspection from TOSHA.
Complaints from employees who believe they have been discriminated against will be investigated by TOSHA. Such a complaint should be filed as soon as possible since TOSHA normally can only accept complaints filed within thirty (30) days of the alleged discriminatory action.
