Tom Marino
Tom Marino is the Executive Director of The Poplar Foundation, a private foundation based in Memphis, Tennessee. The Foundation’s mission is to reduce poverty by expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities for low-income students in Memphis. Tom serves on the boards of The Soulsville Charter School, The Collegiate School of Memphis, Crosstown High School, Memphis Teacher Residency, Tech901, and the Binghampton Development Corporation.
Before joining Poplar, Tom worked as a Certified Public Accountant and later served on staff at a local church, where he worked with middle and high school students. During this period, he founded Service Over Self, a ministry that engages volunteers in critical home repair projects for low-income homeowners.
Tom holds degrees from Mississippi State University and Memphis Theological Seminary.
