Policy Drafts, State Plans and Public Hearings

Thank you for taking the time to review and provide comments on the proposed revisions to the Tennessee Vocational Rehabilitation Program Manual (VRPM). The VRPM contains the policies and procedures used to provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities in accordance with federal and state law.

The proposed revisions are intended to make VR policy clearer and more consistent. They also support better vocational rehabilitation services, successful employment outcomes, and informed choice for VR customers. The following VRPM sections contain the proposed policy revisions.

The proposed revisions are available for public review and comment from August 12, 2026, through August 27, 2026. Tennessee Vocational Rehabilitation welcomes comments on any aspect of the proposed revisions.  During the public comment period, anyone may review the proposed revisions and submit comments on any of the proposed VRPM sections.  We will review and consider all comments before the revisions are finalized.

Comments may be submitted using the feedback form below. Within the feedback form, please select the applicable VRPM section(s) that you reviewed and would like to comment on.

Please submit your comments by clicking the link below, no later than August 27, 2026. We appreciate your time and thoughtful feedback as we continue to improve vocational rehabilitation services in Tennessee.

A virtual public hearing will also be conducted on August 24, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CT) to provide interested individuals and organizations with an opportunity to speak about the proposed revisions and share their comments.

The proposed policy revisions are available in an alternate format upon request.  If you have any questions, please contact the VR Policy Director at Regina.Burson@tn.gov.
