Contract Information

Greetings and welcome to the State of Tennessee’s Central Procurement Office website!

The Central Procurement Office (CPO) is responsible for procuring goods and services and creating cost savings while ensuring transparency and accountability in the procurement and contracting process.  With a flexible and innovative approach to procurement, the Central Procurement Office has achieved industry leading cost savings on terms and conditions most favorable to all stakeholders of the State.  Our approach to procurement has resulted in national recognition on several occasions.  Because of our approach to procurement, the vendor community views the State as a very desirable business partner, which results in the maximum amount of competition for each procurement.  Equally important, our approach to procurement and business makes us a very desirable employer, which allows us to attract the best and brightest procurement professionals to serve the needs of all of our many stakeholders in the State.

CPO responsibilities include:

  • Developing rules, policies, and procedures prescribing the manner in which goods and services may be procured
  • Establishing contracts and performing contract oversight, contract administration, contract management, and contract compliance
  • Procurement training
  • Bidder and Vendor registration
  • Increasing opportunities for minority-owned, woman-owned, Tennessee service-disabled veteran-owned, and small businesses through the Governor’s Office of Diversity Business Enterprise (Go-DBE)
  • Grants management
