Directions and Description
Site Directions: From Cookeville, at the intersection of 12th Street and S Willow Avenue / TN-135, travel North for 8.7 miles, turn left onto Zion Road and continue for 3.1 miles. Zion Road becomes Blackburn Fork Road, continues on Blackburn Fork Road for 1.1 miles and the parking area is on the left. Lat- 36.31550, Long -85.56422
The WMA is open year-round during daylight hours, with access dependent on hunting seasons. License fees may apply. Use of motorized vehicles or horseback riding is prohibited. Closed to all nonmotorized activities during big game hunts.

Description: Blackburn Fork WMA is 600 acres located along the top and slope of the Eastern Highland Rim in Jackson County, Tennessee. Blackburn Fork Creek lies at the bottom of the valley and divides the property. It is also one of three beautiful state scenic rivers in the area. White-tailed deer, turkey, and gray squirrel are abundant in the area. Prairie warbler, indigo bunting, and summer tanager are just a few of the songbirds known to frequent the area.

Closed to all non-hunting activities during big game hunts.
Big Game, Small Game, and Trapping - Same as statewide seasons, except as noted.
Quail - Nov. 2, 2024 - Jan. 15, 2025.
Dog Training - Sept. 1, 2024 - March 15, 2025.
