These TWRA Shooting Ranges are closed due to Covid-19: Bartlett, John Sevier, Montgomery County, Stones River ranges. All unmanned ranges on any WMAs will remain open.

The TWRA offers several shooting ranges and hunter education centers throughout the state for public use. In addition, archery ranges and Hunter Education classes are also available at some of the ranges as well, in addition to other services. Be sure to check with each range and center to see what is offered!

$10.00 per person. Cash Only. 16 and under shoot free with a paying adult.
Juveniles must be under adult supervision at all times.
25-yard indoor range, pistols, and rimfire rifles
Firearms must be in a case to enter the facility.
No Centerfire rifles, Muzzleloaders or Shotguns.
NO Steel ammunition or shotshells.
We do not rent guns or sell ammunition.
Directions: From I-40, take the Appling Road Exit. Proceed north on Appling Road and cross over Stage Road. Approximately 800 yards on the right side you will see a service road. There is a green Hunter Education sign on the light pole. The service road is right after the green sign.

Firearms must be cased and unloaded (no open or concealed carry allowed). All shotguns must have a stock (no pistol grips) and the only ammunition allowed for shotguns is slugs. Also, ear and eye protection is required. Targets are available for purchase at the range.
Stones River Hunter Education Centers offers a wide variety of activities for the entire family, including two firearm ranges and an archery ranges. Hunter Education classes are also periodically taught at the center, and several events take place throughout the year at the center as well.
Directions: From I-40 (approximately 8.3 miles to the range) take Mt. Juliet exit (exit 226). Go South on South Mt. Juliet Road to Hobson Pike. Cross Percy Priest Lake and the range is on the left.
From I-24 (approximately 5.5 miles to the range) take the Old Hickory Blvd. exit (exit 62). Go North on Old Hickory Blvd. and cross Murfreesboro Rd. (highways 41 & 70 South) onto Hobson Pike. The range is 4 miles on the right.

- 100-yard range (18 positions, including 1 wheelchair accessible position)
- 6 target sight-in archery range

In 2020, the center will be closed for the following holidays:

May 22, 23, 24 - Memorial Day
July 3, 4, 5 - Independence Day
September 4, 5, 6 - Labor Day
November 27 - Thanksgiving
December 25, 26, 27 - Christmas
January 1, 2, 3 - New Year's (The range will be open January 8, 2021 on normal winter hours).
You do not need a hunting license to shoot at the range. Everyone (including hunting license holders) must purchase a permit.
Only cash and checks are accepted at the center.
Tier 2 Range Permit
$8.00 for 2 hours. Time begins when the patron checks in with the rangemaster.
Annual fee - $151.00
Please read the posted range rules and procedures when you arrive.
Rifles and handguns only. No shotguns except using slugs, multiple projectile shotgun ammunition causes unnecessary target stand damage.
Open Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, sunrise till sunset. Closed during big game hunts.

The range fees have been restructured as follows:
Tier 1 ranges include: Cheatham WMA, Catoosa WMA, Prentice Cooper WMA, North Cumberland WMA, Chuck Swan WMA, and Yanahli WMA.
*Fees are not required for Tier 1 ranges, provided the shooter can show proof of a Tennessee hunting license. This exception applies only to Tier 1 ranges.
