Information for Fishing Event Hosts

Registration & Evaluation Forms
Thank you for offering to host a Fishing Event in Tennessee! TWRA is focused on supporting events that Recruit, Retain, and Reactivate anglers of all ages and backgrounds. TWRA’s new Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation Plan (R3) provides strategies to create lifelong anglers rather than focusing on once-a-year participation. Fishing events are a great way to introduce new anglers to fishing and provide special opportunities for unique angling groups.
In Tennessee, children under 13 years old do not need a fishing license, which means events especially for kids under 13 can be held any time of year! Youth ages 13-15 can purchase a Junior Hunt/Fish license for a nominal fee to fish the entire year. Free Fishing Day (the first Saturday after the first Monday in June) is June 7, 2025, this year and offers a great opportunity to host Family Fishing events when everyone can fish for free.
