Providing safe, Door-through-door transportation for older adults who are able to walk on their own or with assistance of a cane or walker.  Customized rides to best meet the needs of those older adults 60 and over.  Volunteers use their own personal vehicle to transport these older adult riders, but are covered under additional liability insurance.  Trips are pre-paid, volunteers do not have to collect any money from the riders.  

How do I become a volunteer?

To become a volunteer, you can contact the MyRide office in your area and complete an application.  Volunteers must be able to pass a motor vehicle check and background check. 

Who can volunteer?  

Volunteers must be over the age of 18, in most areas, some require over the age of 21, 

Who cannot volunteer?   

Volunteers who do not pass a background check or do not have a clean driving record may not be eligible to participate.  Each application will be reviewed and determined by the program steering committee. 

Where can people volunteer?  

Currently there are 11 active volunteer transportation programs in Tennessee.  There will be 19 more programs by October 2021.  Please see the included map to locate a program near you to become a volunteer.
