Description: Eagle Lake Refuge is a mostly cleared Mississippi River floodplain partitioned into water management units.  A small amount of forested bluff land occurs on this 3,253-acre refuge.  The Refuge is a good site for viewing waterfowl, wading birds, and shorebirds depending upon water levels and time of year. Waterfowl viewing is best in winter. Mississippi Kites may be seen in summer, Bald Eagles are seen year-round and the bluff hills can be great for migrant songbirds in spring and fall.
