Electronic Lien and Title (ELT) Program

About the ELT Program

The Tennessee ELT Program enables the electronic exchange of lien and title records information between lienholders (such as banks, credit unions, and financial institutions) and the department. Instead of issuing paper titles, the department maintains an electronic record of the title while a lien exists. When the lien is satisfied, an electronic release is sent, and the title may be printed or maintained electronically.

Participation is currently optional and limited to liens processed through approved ELT Service Providers
