Tax Fraud

The Special Investigations Section detects, investigates and seeks prosecution of tax-related fraud.  Taxes commonly investigated by include: 

• sales and use tax 
• business tax
• franchise & excise taxes
• tobacco tax
• motor fuel taxes
• liquor-by-the-drink tax
• bail bond tax
• other Tennessee business taxes

Suspected violations of Tennessee tax laws can be reported anonymously online, in writing and by phone.  Please view the Report Tax Fraud section for assistance.
