February 21: Dorshonda Evans

Dorshonda Evans, BSHA, LPN is Rural Health Association of Tennessee’s (RHA of TN) Member Engagement Director. As a nurse and mother, Mrs. Evans understands the challenges healthcare workers face in balancing family, work, and personal care.

In her time with RHA of TN, Mrs. Evans has led the development of a Workforce Readiness curriculum aimed at introducing youth to careers in healthcare. She has facilitated new partnerships between K-12 schools, hospitals, TCAT Jackson, and others. As a committed health equity advocate, Mrs. Evans also coordinates the association’s public health education events.

Mrs. Evans teaches part-time at Jackson State Community College and is a member of TCAT Jackson’s Nursing Advisory Committee, Tennessee’s Maternal Health Taskforce, Madison County Health Council, Committee on Pediatric Emergency Care (CoPEC), and the National Rural Health Association.
