February 22: Dr. Billy D. Holcombe

Billy D. Holcombe, PhD is a pediatric neuropsychologist and director of Clinical Training at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. He holds assistant professor rank in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Pediatrics, and he is deeply committed to research and teaching across medical disciplines.

A University of Florida and Howard University alum, Dr. Holcombe completed clinical rotations at Children’s National Medical Center (Washington, D.C.) and Kennedy Krieger/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (Baltimore, MD). He then continued on to a residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan/Wayne State University School of Medicine and fellowship at Akron Children’s Hospital.

As an engaged member of the medical community, serves on several hospital and university committees. He is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

Dr. Holcombe is also an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and he was recently selected as a “40 Under 40” Urban Elite Professional in Memphis, Tennessee. As a clinician, advocate and educator who has worked to improve pediatric health across the United States, his colleagues at Le Bonheur Children’s and UTHSC proudly consider him one of Memphis’ own.
