Student Information System (SIS) Guidance for Districts
What is ESA?
A Tennessee ESA, is an account for eligible students to use funds for specific educational expenses, including tuition and fees, at approved participating Category I, II, or III non-public schools in Tennessee.
The School Improvement Fund and state funding calculations are guided by Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-2605 and the Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement (TISA) formula.
What does this mean for your district?
To ensure the ESA students are generating state funds, the LEA must continue to code these ESA students into the Education Information System (EIS) for the entire time that they are participating in the K-12 ESA Program and zoned for attendance in the LEA.
