Turkey Quota Hunts

• A $12 application fee and a vendor fee, which varies based on method of submission, is assessed to each application, except for individuals possessing a valid Annual, Lifetime or Senior Sportsman License. Application fees are non-refundable. Receipt and deposit of application fees does not constitute permission to participate in the hunt.
• Verify that all the information on your application is accurate prior to submission.
• Ensure that you have a valid and accurate email address on your GoOutdoorsTennessee.com account. A receipt, which serves as proof of application and hunt choices, will be sent to the email address on your account.
• Once your application is complete, you may review your application (including party members) by logging into your GoOutdoorsTennessee.com account. Applications may be edited until the deadline.
• No applications will be accepted or edited after the deadline.
• No person may apply for a particular quota hunt more than once. Any person violating this regulation is subject to having their permit and/or hunting privileges revoked and may be subject to prosecution.
• Permits are not transferable.

Spring Turkey Specifics

• Applicants must be at least 6 years old to apply for Spring Turkey.
• Applicants 6-16 years old may apply for Youth Spring Turkey. Youths 6-16 may submit applications for both Spring Turkey and Youth Spring Turkey.
• Applicants for Spring Turkey may choose to apply for one or two drawings.
• This hunt utilizes priority points. Priority points in a party will be averaged and rounded to the nearest whole number.
• Parties may have up to 5 applicants, including the party leader.
• Applicants, or the party leader if applying in a party, may select up to 24 hunt choices on their application for Spring Turkey.  Youth Spring Turkey applicants may select up to 5 hunt choices.
• The bag limit for Spring Turkey and Youth Spring Turkey hunts is 1 male bearded turkey. All harvests count toward the statewide bag limit.

Party and Point Only Applications

• Applicants may create a party, join a party, or submit a point-only application.
• Parties can have up to 5 applicants, including the party leader.
• A party must be established by an applicant who acts as the party leader. The party leader selects the hunt choices for the party, ranks them in order of their preference, and selects the number of drawings the party will enter.
• A party number will be assigned to the party leader once their application has been submitted. The party number can be found on the party leader’s receipt or on their GoOutdoorsTennessee.com account.
• The party leader must share their party number with the applicants they want to join their party. The party members must select the “join a party” option on their application and input the leader’s party number to join the party.
• Point-only applications can only be submitted individually (no parties). Applicants will be awarded one priority point, after the drawing is finalized, that will be added to their current priority points for the specific quota hunt they submitted a point-only application.
• Applicants cannot submit a point-only application and an application to enter the drawing in the same year.

Drawing Information

TWRA’s priority drawing program gives one priority point to applicants each year they apply and are not successfully drawn for any Spring Turkey or Youth Spring Turkey hunt. Applicants who were successful last year will start over with a priority of zero. If applicants in a party have varying priority points, the points will be averaged. If your party is unsuccessful, each party member’s individual priority will increase by one point.

All applications are assigned a unique random number by the drawing program. Applications are automatically sorted by priority point groups, from highest to lowest. The lowest random number in the highest priority group is selected first for review, then each subsequent number in that priority group is selected before the program moves to the next priority group. When an application is selected for review, the hunt choices are compared, in the order they were ranked on the application, to the remaining quota for that hunt; if there is quota available, the application is awarded that hunt choice. If there is no quota remaining for any hunt choices selected on the application when it is reviewed, then the application is unsuccessful. If one member of a party is drawn for a hunt, then the entire party is drawn.

Leftover Permits

If quota remains for any hunt at the conclusion of the drawing, a vacancy drawing will be conducted for the applicants who chose two drawings. Priority is not considered in the vacancy drawing; applicants are considered in order of their unique random number, from lowest to highest. If quota remains after the conclusion of the vacancy drawing, leftover permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at 8 a.m. CST on February 4. Leftover permits will be available for purchase online at GoOutdoorsTennessee.com, via the TWRA mobile app, at any License Agent, and at every TWRA Regional Office.
