The following report is an update on the impact of the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Act of 2013. The report gives a snapshot of changes and progress occurring in calendar year 2023.

The REWARD Program Advisory Committee’s purpose is to be a resource for the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation on issues related to its mission of returning employees to work and reducing disabilities.

The Medical Advisory Committee will meet on Tuesday, June 11, 2023 from 1-3 PM (CDT). This meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Workers’ Compensation Large Conference Room, on 1B, 220 French Landing Drive, Nashville, TN and will be available virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Dr. Snyder is calling a special meeting of the Medical Payment Committee for the purpose of reviewing the Medical Fee Schedule Rate Tables developed by FAIR Health.

Two open houses are scheduled to answer questions about the new rate tables for Tennessee's medical fee schedule.

The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is offering a free training for Case Managers on Thursday, April 11, 2024. This training teaches case managers how they can help injured workers best utilize the resources, funds, and expertise of the Next Step Program.

Registration is now open for the Tennessee Workers' Compensation Educational Conference, taking place June 12-14 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville SE Murfreesboro.

The committee hears disputes on medical bill payments between providers and insurers and advises the administrator on issues relating to the medical fee schedule and medical care cost containment in the workers’ compensation system.

The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI) announced that workers’ compensation insurance premiums will decline for most Tennessee businesses in 2024 for the 11th consecutive year.

Requests to present should be emailed by Monday, April 1st, 2024. All submissions will be reviewed by the conference committee, and the most trending and thought-provoking presentations will be selected.

Updated program rules are now in effect for the Tennessee’s Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims.
