US Veteran Federal Benefits

United States Department of Veterans Affairs

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs administers several veterans benefits to include disability compensation, pension, education, home loans, healthcare, mental health and life insurance.  Many Veterans do not know they are entitled to federal Veteran benefits.

The VA is comprised of the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Veterans Healthcare Administration (VHA) and the National Cemetery Administration (NCA).  The VBA handles benefits.  VHA focuses on hospitals, clinics and other healthcare needs.  NCA manages national Veterans cemeteries, administers burial benefits and state Veteran cemetery grants.

Connecting with federal Veteran benefits can be overwhelming for Veterans, dependents and surviving family members.  The Tennessee Department of Veterans Services is here to help offer claims assistance, advocacy during the appeals process and will help connect customers with resources.  We could not serve all 95 Tennessee counties without County Service Officer partnerships.  As a team, we will work to connect you with resources, information and guide you through the process to get your federal Veteran benefits.
