Governor Bill Lee appointed Commissioner Courtney Rogers to lead the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services on January 19, 2019. Rogers is a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with 28 years of military service in the Air Force and the Tennessee Air National Guard. The Sumner County resident also served three terms as a State Representative for the 45th district with the Tennessee General Assembly. While a state legislator, Rogers was a member of the Tennessee Legislative Veterans Caucus where she worked to provide property tax benefits for Veterans.
The Tennessee Department of Veterans Services is committed to serve more than 474,000 Veterans and their family members in areas of claims assistance, burial benefits, education, employment and connection to federal, state, local and non-profit services.
