The TWRA played an active role in the 2026 Tennessee FFA State Convention, held in Gatlinburg. With nearly 4,000 high school agriculture and natural resources students in attendance, the event provided an excellent opportunity for students to interact with game wardens, biologists, and other team members.

During the event, TWRA had a booth in the expo featuring inflatable archery and information about TWRA. Public Relations Director Emily Buck addressed attendees during the second general session and encouraged students to explore the outdoors and careers in wildlife conservation. Students also had the opportunity to learn more about careers with

the Agency during a workshop. Boating investigator, Roy Smith, black bear biologist, Janelle Musser, and Emily shared more about the education requirements needed for TWRA employment, day-to-day responsibilities, as well as the highlights and challenges each role faces. More than 50 students attended the workshop.
