TWRA Connects with Maury County Fairgoers
Just One of the Locations Agency Has Presence During Fair SeasonThe TWRA participates in numerous county fairs across Tennessee each year, providing a unique opportunity to connect with communities and share information about hunting, fishing, and Tennessee’s diverse wildlife.
Recently, Chris Belkin, Bryan Berry, and James Askins spent time at the Maury County Fairgrounds, visiting with fairgoers and answering questions about wildlife, hunting, fishing, and the many outdoor opportunities available across the state.
Outreach is an important part of TWRA’s mission. Connecting with hunters and anglers on a personal level, whether answering questions, offering information, or simply listening to their stories, can make a lasting impact. County fairs also provide an opportunity to reach people who may have had little or no previous interaction with TWRA or may not be familiar with the many wildlife and fishing opportunities Tennessee has to offer.
During the five-day Maury County Fair, more than 1,200 people visited TWRA’s Wildlife on Wheels trailer. Visitors had the chance to learn more about Tennessee wildlife and discover ways to get involved in the outdoors.
Events like the Maury County Fair allow the TWRA to meet people where they are and build connections within local communities.
