Boating and Law Enforcement Announces Promotions

TWRA’s Boating and Law Enforcement Division has announced the promotions of David Carpenter as Region IV’s District 42 lieutenant and Daniel Plunkett has been selected as the new captain in Region II’s District 22,respectively. Both officers serve diligently and have received honors for their service through their careers.

David has dedicated more than 16 years to TWRA, serving most recently as the District 42 sergeant, where heled a team of wildlife officers with a focus on training, performance, and strategic field operations. He is well-known for his strong leadership.

David has made significant contributions as a field training officer, firearms Instructor, and use of force instructor, helping to prepare and mentor the next generation of TWRA officers. He has proudly served on the TWRA Honor Guard since 2012 and actively engages in community outreach.

Daniel has been with TWRA 15 years, serving most recently as the District 22 lieutenant. Daniel began his career as the officer in Lauderdale County and then worked for many years in Wayne County. Daniel was then given the opportunity to transfer to Lincoln County, his home county, where he was promoted to sergeant and then lieutenant.

Daniel has taken on additional job responsibilities by becoming a Firearms Instructor, ERASE instructor and Glock Armorer. Daniel enjoys instructing new officers and helps conduct training at the Tennessee Wildlife Officers Training Academy. He assists with the further development of new officers by serving as a Field Training Officer.

As an officer in Wayne County, Daniel gained valuable experience in big game enforcement, small river enforcement and wild hog eradication.
