Agency Participates in National Health Day at Nashville Zoo
The TWRA was represented at One Health Day hosted by the Nashville Zoo. TWRA was among the state, federal, universities, and non-profit organizations participating in the event which is celebrated annually and held for the first time at the Nashville Zoo.
TWRA’s Wildlife Health Program participated by highlighting some of Tennessee’s native species and projects occurring in the state, and what to do if a person sees sick wildlife. Representing the Agency at its display were Sonia Mongold, Cyna Gehring, Dr. Dan Grove, and Jason Harmon.
One Health is a collaborative, multisectoral, and transdisciplinary approach working at the local, regional, national, and global levels-with the goal of achieving optimal health outcomes, recognizing the interconnection between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment. One Health Day is held each year to highlight the One Health approach and the collaborations between health entities.
