TWRA Beneficiary of Late Sweetwater Resident's Gift

NASHVILLE --- Mr. Kenneth Langston Brown was a supporter of the work of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), and his last wish was to show his appreciation, which came in the form of a very generous display.

A Sweetwater resident, Mr. Brown passed away on April 13, 2025, at age 72. Without a family, Mr. Brown’s last will named TWRA as a beneficiary of his estate. His estate went through the probate process, and the value of his overall donation to wildlife conservation was $231,078.48.

Mr. Brown’s long-time friend Ricky McMahan, who has served as a contact with the TWRA, along with the necessary legal parties, said Mr. Brown was very clear on what he wanted to happen following his passing.

“Kenneth thought TWRA was a great agency for what it did with its fine work for fish, wildlife, and people who enjoyed the outdoors in Tennessee,” Mr. McMahan said. “He did not have the family to leave his estate, but he wanted to help the Agency, so that is what he is doing.”

Mr. Brown worked in the metal industry and later as a skilled stucco worker. He participated in several of the TWRA quota hunts but focused on sport fishing in his later years. He passed away following a courageous battle with cancer.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
